From little acorns, mighty oaks grow
The government is funding schools in England to provide every child in reception, Year 1 and Year 2 with a hot, nutritious meal at lunch time. The aim is to improve academic attainment and save families money.
Over the course of a year the average family spends £437 on school lunches per child.
KS2 can still buy a school lunch by requesting this when the teacher calls the dinner register each day; jacket potatoes are always available but must be ordered at registration.
Our school meals are provided by Caterlink at a cost of £2.30 per day from September 2020.
