Term 1

Hello and Welcome to Year 5 Term 1!

We are thoroughly looking forward to the new year and teaching your children, It's an exciting part of the year. New people; new topics and new faces. Our favourite!

We are starting the year with a bang in English with Mrs Fullagar's favourite novel 'Holes' by Louis Sachar. A wonderfully written novel set in Texas. It has intrigue and an amazingly clever plot line -if you decide to buy it please don't read ahead or watch the film. It really doesn't do the story justice :). It does link to our geography where we will be comparing Texas and areas in Scotland including influences of settlers and food. Mrs K may even do some cooking! 

As part of our termly theme of Community we will be looking to make links with the residents of Keswick Drive and Sterling Avenue. If you have any ideas please pass them onto the class teacher.
