Term 1
What an exciting start to the year it has been for our Year 3 children! They have made a fantastic start to life in Key Stage 2, settling into new routines, embracing new challenges and showing great enthusiasm for their learning. Moving from Key Stage 1 into Key Stage 2 is an important milestone, and it has been wonderful to see the children growing in confidence and independence as they take on the exciting responsibilities that come with being in Year 3.
This term, the children will be enjoying a wide range of exciting learning experiences across the curriculum. In English, we will be introduced to Azzi in Between, exploring the story and developing our reading and writing skills. In Maths, we will be building our understanding of Place Value before moving on to Addition and Subtraction. Our Science and Geography learning will be inspired by our trip to Communigrow, where the children will have the opportunity to explore the natural world and develop their understanding of plants, food and the environment. In Music, we will also be introduced to the ukulele and begin developing our skills as young musicians.
Year 3 is an exciting year of new beginnings, as the children continue to develop the skills and independence they will need throughout Key Stage 2. We are incredibly proud of the way they have started the year and are looking forward to seeing their confidence, knowledge and enthusiasm grow as the year progresses. We can’t wait to see what they achieve!
PE days
Our PE days this term are Thursday and Friday.
Homework
Homework expectations are at the discretion of parents but you will be given the opportunity to use TTRockstars to practice times tables and Atom. We also encourage you to read as much as possible.
